Time at home could be a blessing for some, while some may feel stranded. Whatever the situation, we could try and make it a great time to bond with our loved ones. Check out these 7 activities to make your days at home brighter and more cheerful.

1. PLANTS CAN BE GREAT COMPANIONS, GET TO GARDENING

Investing in some indoor plants can be great! To watch them bloom with the limited resources that they have, can be a great life lesson. Gardening can be therapeutic, but if you have space constraints start your own kitchen garden. Teaching little ones about seed germination can be a great science project and they will love to see the plants sprout. There are plenty of online resources that can serve as a great guiding tool, especially if you are growing plants in extreme climates.

2. TREASURE HUNTS

These can never be outdated! Plan a treasure hunt at home by hiding clues in the most unexpected spots in the house.  Make it exciting by dressing up the little ones as explorers and add a bit of storytelling to it. Life can get boring at times and such light and fun activities can bring joy.

3. SMELL OF CAKES AND PASTRIES

If you love munching on those yummy cookies, get that perfect recipe from your mom’s recipe book and create a new version of it. Add a little bit of your own flavour to it, and you may just end up having your very own unique family recipe. You can pass on this recipe to the your future generations. If you are passionate about cooking write a family cookbook and get some copies printed as gifts for your near and dear ones.

4. PUZZLE SOLVER

Get a complicated and challenging puzzle for yourself. Invest sometime everyday putting together those tiny pieces, the other family members can contribute too! Once it is ready, try to get it up on the wall by looking up some techniques to frame a puzzle to be hung up on a wall!

5. WATCH THE CLOUDS OR STARGAZE INDOORS:

Nothing more fascinating that looking at the clouds and stars in the sky. If you don’t have access to a clear view of the sky outside your home, create one in your own room. Get some “glow in the dark” stars and planets and spend time looking at them. Add fun facts and astronomy to your project. Get to design constellations, milky ways right in your room. Don’t let the walls of your house limit your creativity.

6. MAGIC SHOWS WILL NEVER STOP AMUSING KIDS

Learn some cool magic tricks and connect them with some science experiments to get more out of magic. Learning with magic, you have your very own Hogwarts at home!

7. MOVIE NIGHTS/AFTERNOONS OR EVENINGS

The collection of superb movies online has been growing. Make the most of this time by watching some classic movies. Travel may be limited but your imagination can run wild. Indulge in some amazing movies which will take you to places which you cannot go!
